just in time...
with money low in the bank and my getting sick of casting sperm i have received another commission! yay!
I was asked to make some more copper-red bowls similar to those that I made in last year during the MiMoMo show (linked image). I will be making about 10 of them which I have already pretty much finished. All I need to do is fire them and glaze them...
A friend of mine is also doing the interior of a massage house (not the kind with a happy ending) and asked me to make some aroma oil burners. I am only making 6-7 of them, but they are intending to sell them in shop so i'll have the opportunity to make some more mulah!
our final critique is on the 21st of june. i'm so nervous about presenting since my korean still is nowhere need good enough. maybe i'll just have a friend translate for me...that way i can speak a bit more deeply about what i am doing and people will be able to understand. i hope the profs don't get upset...but isn't the point to understand my work and mind? well...because i don't want them to not allow me to do it, i'm just going to do it and take my chances. i can't see them getting mad...i would be sorely disappointed if they did.

love the copper red interior so elegant that contrasts with the exterior. nice work~! and those spermies...gosh they made me laugh~! perhaps you can write more about what led you to such a project and how it's been received inseoul...do folks see it as offensive, serious, humorous, political, embarrassing? just checking in on your blog and it was nicely filled with new ideas for me. ...and btw. those sperm look exactly like they do in my mind~! did you use something scientific as a model? cynthia in davis,ca (leisure potter and amom)
hey joe, it's nice to hear that you got another commission. congratulations!
figured out how to get IT back!
love the bowls with your signature lip. when i get a place you definitely gotta make some stuff for me. i really dig the red color.
