all is well...

this week was a rather productive week. i have finished most of my clay work and have begun glaze experimentation. i'm kinda stressing about this part because of the time required in the kilns...and i have to pay for kiln use. you would think that would be included with the tuition...in fact one may thing that that might be one of the benefits of school. oh well...not in korea.

working on some rather interesting (i hope) plaster glazes. working outside of the cone 10 reduction environment as well (plaster glazes = cone 3) should be pretty interesting. of course i'll post the results. i was also going to post some work in product photos...but i thought against that. but maybe i'll do that later. force me to document my work hehehe

weather was been great as the days have been heating up a bit. today was the first real humid day. but since it was the first, it was just mild. but it also just started dumping rain tonight (WHOOO-HOOO it's monsoon rain!)

life is going well. i plan to be here throughout the summer and take some korean language courses as my writting/reading..and well my overall korean can use some work. maybe i'll take some trips within southeast asia...although...my friend did mention a possible trip to lithuania where there is supposed to be a sweet Int'l Ceramics Assoc (ICA) meeting.

oh a friend of mine has opened a hand-bag store. he makes purses using the fabrics from old hanboks (traditional korean dresses mainly). he asked me to create a hanging wall partition. sounds good! i'll be working on this later this weekend.
pay might not be too great, but i think i can get $200... need to talk a bit more about this with him.

happy to hear all is well, joe. all is well here too. finally got word of my job offer for a new position at the ywca, so that's relieving. nate got his promotion to manager at the deli, so that's all good. now, we just got to get that true summer weather that minnesotans crave all winter (at least minnesotans like me) and everything will be great.
